According to a new research, the site has surpassed 50 online shopping portals on the basis of number of visits to claim the top spot. It is followed by Argos.com, Tesco.com and Play.com who had the next three positions in that order.

Industry experts have noted that shoppers are becoming increasingly loyal to their favourite websites and therefore, most of these sites have not witnessed major shifts in their rankings when compared to last year's data. The figures state that 26 companies out of 50 are appearing within three rankings of their spot last year.

Customer satisfaction is being cited as the main reason behind the success of these sites. Also, these shopping portals have reached a stage where competitors can barely affect their business. The only competition that actually exists is the one between the top five on this popularity list.

Online sales have also witnessed a remarkable rise, with figures touching about £4 billion in the month of July. Don't panic... we are not talking about the animals here. These are the bears and bulls of a stock exchange, or in simple words, these are the stock traders.

Traders are networking with community members to keep themselves up-to-date with stock-related information. They are also brandishing members with stock tips, setting up their own blogs and podcasts. Making full use of the flourishing Internet marketing brigade, they are keeping their customers informed about latest happenings with the help of techno-savvy sources like blog posts.

A few online social networks have created special features to suit the functionality of traders. These features strive to connect traders with shared stock interests. In fact, many network owners believe that more than finding investors, these networks are being used for challenging customers to be more effective as traders.

The World Wide Web is actually entangling people from across the world, irrespective of their personal and professional tendencies. The concern over the large amount of personal data gathered and stored by search engines is constantly on the rise in the online marketplace. Increasing pressure from general public and regulatory agencies have driven these sites into pressing the panic button.

The whole debate heated up in the US in November 2006 when certain advocacy groups asked the Federal Trade Commission to keep a tab on consumer profiling by online marketing firms. In due course, it was discovered that the privacy policies of these websites are still wanting in a number of areas.

As a consequence, Microsoft recently announced that it would make all personal data on search queries anonymous within a span of 18 months. Yahoo and Ask.com are also working towards limiting the use of a user's search history. In fact, the latter will give users the option of not retaining their Web searches.

Search industry bigwig Google has been at the forefront of this ire. It is working towards shortening the life span of cookies, and plans to make search queries anonymous after 18 to 24 months.

Although search query data has helped advertisers in improving upon their strategies, it is time the user's right to privacy was given due respect. This could be a viral game or viral advertisement. The old methods of multi-level marketing relied on word of mouth, as people networked through friends and relatives.
The viral e-mail is a similar phenomena growing as it spreads between users on the net. Provided the message is easily scaleable small to large and creates the will to pass on to others it will replicate with amazing speed.

One fine example of Viral marketing is a screen saver which can be installed on any computer and be forwarded to any one. What is the thing that will make some one have that screen saver on his computer even if the screen saver has some other companies logo on it??????????????????

Well my friends thats the beauty of this kind of marketing. A clever marketere's viral marketing plans take advantage of common human motivations. So does the hunger to be popular, loved, and understood.

The resulting urge to communicate produces millions of websites and billions of e-mail messages. Design a marketing strategy that builds on common motivations and behaviors for its transmission, and you have a winner.

Elements of a Viral Marketing Strategy:

1. So many Internet companies sprouted up in Silicon Valley, and elsewhere, that companies not swept up in the hysteria were thought to be missing out. But, while most people were focused on things like Content, Banner Ads and Bandwidth, Michael Reed and Alan Ezeir, the CEO and President respectively of Global Domains International, Inc. (GDI), recognized another opportunity that was largely ignored; they wondered, "Besides dot com, are there other extensions that businesses could use as a domain name?"

GDI is one of the companies which realized the potential of the concept and implemented in a beautiful fashion. GDI is the domain name provider for " .WS" which stands for WebSite and is a globally accepted extention now. Till now it has been able to cover up a major market of few good millions and yet that is only 1% of the world wide domain market, so you have many more people to join up this venture and make money for themselves and yeah, have your online exixtance marked.

It works on very simple principle, you buy a domian from GDI with which they offer you the domain name 100MB space, 10 email ids, and 24x7 support for the web site builinding which includes the web site templets as well and all for $10 every month. Now that you are a part of GDI you can work as a GDI associate and help others have their own online landscape marked in the vast world of internet. For every person who did what you did ie; opening an account with GDI you get paid $1 for that person and the person below the privious and you get paid till the fifth level so if you have 5 guys working and 5 guys working below every one. The monthly income comes out to be $3905. So when you can have the 1% of 100 people you really dont need to put your 100% to some thing. Just imagine the kind of time you would have to spend with your family, your friends and do so much more.

To start with a concept MLM

Multi-level marketing has worked wonders for many people around the globe. It is a way of ea rning profits by associating with the company as franchisees or contractors and selling its goods while bringing in more associates. This business model has been successfully implemented by many businesses and individual entrepreneurs. However, it has its flip side too and many businesses have suffered because it often became difficult to differentiate between serious and legitimate MLMs and those pyramid schemes which promise the moon. Also MLM companies are using the internet in a big way and there is no dearth of Online MLMs.

Amway one of the largest direct-selling companies, instantly comes to the mind when we talk of MLMs. It generated a retail sale of over 6 billion dollars in 2005, so says its website.

However, it has also been criticised because many of its established associates began their own companies for selling some kind of training for Amway newcomers thereby earning more!
In my future blogs I would try to pull in some cases regarding online MLM and how they are growing every day

SEO is must if you plan to grow

Believe it or not, Search Engine Optimisation is the key to successful business. One fellow said- you cannot not optimse! This is so true if one wants to be taken seriouly in the business of Online marketing. After all, Online marketing is about ranking higher on search engines. And one cannot rank high unless optimised because most search engines have their criteria and standards which require optimisation. One rarely realises one's total potential, if unoptimised. No wonder SEOs are very much in demand today.

An Optimisation strategy revolves around working with content, headlines, links etc. There are both on-page and off-page Optimisation methods which SEOs apply. However, there are more methods which are banned ones and which are employed only by black hat or unethical SEOs. It is always good for the business to stay away from black hat SEOs unless you have a deep desire to be axed by Google, MSN, Yahoo and others ( for your kind information even a big cheese like BMW Germany was blacklisted by Google!). Also, it pays to hire a professional SEO agency rather than aiming at it on your own or with few others with little or no experience.

Cyberspace is full of stories where nondescript business gained tremendous brownie points by optimsing their site! It is not uncommon to come across people who have jumped from Google 5000 to 50! So SEOing is a must for search engine marketing.

Well looks like if you have a business online its gotta be on top.

Know Who are Affiliates

Report on the market, sounds interesting already and when it says Affiliate Marketing it just added on to the excitement." *eConsultancy " did a survey with around 1600 affiliates and has some thing really important to say about it.

Link to download it:
Free Affiliate Census Report

The report will give you an insight of the people doing it, very important for some1 who believes "long gone those days when you want to assume the horse wants to have grass only."
It is very important to know who are the affiliate base and what kind of behaviour and trends they follow.
